Apple’s 14.5 updates will change the game, one way or another.

If you are running an online company or working on mobile apps, then you will need to pay attention to the upcoming iOS 14 update. This could be one of the most significant updates for App Marketing and Growth that we will see for some time.

It’s the end of an era. iOS 14 has been out for some time, but it’s also the beginning of a new era for digital marketing. This update has seen Apple making changes to many of the settings used in apps and with this update, everything will be about personalization.

iOS 14 is the start of a new way in which advertisers will target users and grow their businesses.  The update to Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 14, is set to cause a lot of pain for small businesses. At first glance, these changes look like just a minor upgrade with some small improvements. However, as you dig deeper, there’s more to it than meets the eye. With this new update, downloaded apps will no longer support walking users through their actions — such as completing an online transaction or downloading an app. Instead, apps will just ask for permission to access your location.  It sounds like this may impact things like lead generation. Now, anyone who has ever tried to use a lead generation app (or found one they couldn’t use) knows that location-based permissions can lead to friction and annoyance.

A new privacy policy for Apple has been successful in giving insight on what the company is doing with the data of its users on an Apple device. This includes the UDID, Apple HealthKit, Health app and iCloud. It also shows that the company will be collecting data about users across all their devices.
